Finally I can share this exciting project!
Since March I have been working with an inter-disciplinary team to find out how families are coping with lockdown. We've conducted 2 waves of interviews with 43 families from varying economic backgrounds.
Consistently, home-learning and home-schooling was identified has a source of pressure and stress.
As a result we set out to co-design a Scottish Model of Safe Education (SMS-Ed) with parents and teachers from 5 schools. Our intention is to test this model with groups across the world and see how to make it acceptable and practical in a variety of contexts.

We worked with disease modellers, experts in education and psychologist to create a viable option to families and communities.
We hope to offer a solution to education during a pandemic that is an alternative to at-home-isolation and full-time in-school-education.
You can find a short report as well as other material on the University of Glasgow website.
